The Calibike is the revolutionary new e-bike that will change the way you travel to work and fun.
Built for performance, comfort, and longevity, Calibikes have patented an ideal 33-33-33 model: the bike can speed up to 33mph, weigh 33 pounds, and (at long-term top speed) have a 33 mile range. Decreasing the speed to 18-22 mph will give you a longer battery range of up to 100 miles.

The Revolutionary New E-Bike
Built for performance, comfort, and longevity, Calibikes have patented an ideal 33-33-33 model: the bike can speed up to 33mph, weigh 33 pounds, and (at long-term top speed) have a 33 mile range. Decreasing the speed to 18-22 mph will give you a longer battery range of up to 100 miles.
Founded in sunny southern California, electrical engineer Rafe Husain’s goal was to build a bike that was both the lightest and fastest electric bike on the market. His search for the perfect e-bike began in 2011 when his driving became restricted due to eyesight problems. Looking for new ways to get around Los Angeles, he became infatuated with the combination of e-bikes and public transportation.
What Is Calibike?
While many companies struggle with the balance of weight and speed, through thorough testing Husain figured out the perfect balance. At only 33 pounds, the bike is light enough to carry up and down stairs, whether they are to your apartment or public transit. The 33c3 model was born after many tests on the combination of batteries, weight, and speed.
The 33c3 Model
The 33c3 model, now available to consumers, has a fully integrated battery and a clean, professional aesthetic. At 33mph, Calibike riders are faster than most cars, busses, and certainly any regular biker. The control mode utilizes frame-oriented control so that you can cruise while seamlessly and quietly.
The battery fully recharges in 6 hours, so while you’re meeting with your friend at the beach, meeting that hot date, or heading to the office to nail that company presentation, your Calibike can be recharging.
The 33C3 Has 4 Operating Modes
- All compliant: Unpowered road bike max speed rider dependent
- EU compliant: Motor assisted bicycle mode 20 mph max speed
- California compliant: Moped mode 28 mph max speed
- Non compliant: Motorcycle mode 33 mph speed (Turbo Porsche mode)

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a donation or will I get a bike?
You can pre-order the complete bike on the Kickstarter
Why is it called the 33C3?
This was a design goal to have an ebike that weighs 33 lbs goes 33 mph and has a 33 mile range, hence the name, 33c3. Most ebikes are super heavy, ranging from 50 lbs to 80 lbs. Others are light but slow. We wanted a bike that is both light and fast.
Do you have financing?
Yes, for those that need it, you can pre-order your bike on our website once our Kickstarter is completed through our website.
Will COVID affect production?
So far COVID-19 has had minimal effect on production. All of our overseas production facilities are working in full force. We don’t foresee delays due to the coronavirus, but shipping delays are possible and we will keep our Kickstarter guests informed and are developing back-up plans to mitigate delays.
Will the production bikes be exactly like the ones pictured?
No. They will be even better. For example production will have dis brakes standard
What range can you get?
The range is actually 33 miles to 100 miles with more pedaling and less power you get almost 70-100 miles.
Are you planning to offer upgrades?
Yes, we have some exciting ideas for stretch goals. When the campaign reaches a certain funding amount we’ll unlock these upgrades! Tell your friends, so we can release these faster!
Can It Hold My Weight?
The frames are designed for 325 lbs. The motor can handle 300 lbs. The controller puts out 1500w. The controller also has temperature detection and will reduce power if it senses overheating.
Can I test one at your office?
Call us
Is there a warranty?
Yes! We use high-quality components and are in this for the long run. If you need any support at all you can reach our US-Based support team by phone or email. All Calibike bikes are protected by a one-year warranty. We also offer a longer-term warranty. The warranty covers everything parts and labor except shipping.
What if it’s past the warranty or I broke it myself?
No stress, we still have your back with excellent support (from real humans in the US) and will help you purchase the correct replacement components to get rolling ASAP.
How do I get replacement parts?
We have been selling ebike kits since 2013 on our website at www.Calibike.com. We can help you find replacement parts.
Where can I get my 33C3 serviced?
The 33C3 is extremely simple. Aside from the electronics, it’s built 100% with standard bike components. Any reputable bike shop will have the tools to service your 33C3. For any non-standard maintenance, we will provide video instructions to ensure top quality service.
Can you ride it in the rain?
Absolutely
What size tires will it fit?
700c28
How much does it weigh?
The 33C3 is the lightest fastest electric bike on the market. It’s not the lightest (some light bikes weigh 32 lbs but only go 20 mph) and it’s not the fastest (some ebikes can do 40 mph) but the best combination of 33lbs and 33 mph
How do you charge the battery and how long does it take?
It’s simple, just plug the charger into the charging port located on the head tube. It takes about 4 hours to charge with the fast charger.
Can the battery be replaced?
While the battery is built into the bike, it can still be removed if ever needed for service.
Will the charger work with 120V and 220V outlets around the world?
Yes, the charger is rated 100-240V and uses the same power cable that desktop computers use. It works in every country.
Can you charge the bike by pedaling to increase range?
No, such a system defies the laws of physics and would decrease the overall range of the bike rather than increase it. Because the efficiency of dynamos and motors is only in the 80-90% range, such a system could only convert ~80% of the energy you put into pedaling into motion. On the other hand, if you simply used this energy to propel the bike, you can put almost 100% of that energy into motion. Put simply, the bike is simpler and will go further without this system.
Is there room for a water bottle mount?
Yes, there are braze-one on the seat tube. The touring package comes with a water bottle holder.
Are there mounting points for fenders and a rack?
Yes, standard mounting points for fenders front and rear along with mounting points for a rack.
Will you sell a rear rack?
Yes
Can you remove the wheels if you need to put it in a car?
You can easily remove the quick release front wheel with no tools in just a few seconds.
What happens if I get a Puncture?
Changing a flat on a Calibike is the same as on a standard bike.
How much maintenance does the motor require?
The Motor and Controller are being made since 2018. The wheel spokes should be retightened after the first month or 100 miles and then on every 2500 miles or 6 months.
Will this comply with the laws in Europe/Australia/Mars?
Our Calibike App will derate speed in Europe to comply with EU laws.
What’s the top speed of the Bike?
The 30c3 top measured speed with pedaling has been clocked at 35 mph. The speed and power is shown in the Calibike app.
Do I need a special license to operate one?
30C3 ebikes are legal and classified as an electric bike almost everywhere, and as such don’t require a special license. The Calibike app can be used to derate power and speed to comply with local regulations.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes
How Much is Shipping?
For the US it’s $225. There’s an additional shipping fee for orders to Hawaii and Alaska. Orders out of US have shipping supplements of up to $145 extra.
When does it ship?
We expect to start shipping the first batches of 33C3 three months after the conclusion of the Kickstarter campaign.
Who is responsible for any additional taxes, duties or VAT?
The backer is responsible, please check your country’s import duties before purchasing.
