Read a battery review at
Battery: By the time I got back to starting point total distance was 24.7 miles. Display still showed all full bars except the half bar that is at the right side of the icon (961 display) When I got home, the battery took 1 1/2 hrs to fully recharge. I estimate the battery was about 25% depleted with 75% left to cutoff voltage.

Hurly 64 –
I’ve had my battery for 3.5 years and it’s still going strong!
Dave (verified owner) –
I’ve purchased 2 of these batteries from Rafe, both have been excellent. I use then on recumbent trikes with 750w. BMC or MAC hub motors and have never had a problem with either of them. My rides are typically 20-30 miles on moderately hilly terrain, but I use them for assist only, so I rarely pull more than 5ah. One is 3 years old and still going strong. I’d buy another in a heartbeat!
PJ Beee –
This battery pack gets 5 stars for performance, and 4.5 stars overall. With my 750W motor, I only exceed the pack’s short-term BMS current limit when climbing steep hills AND hitting the throttle too hard; otherwise the hills are no challenge, and I’ve been able to easily manage 25 miles (I recently did over 30 miles!). Even though my knees are not good (osteoarthritis, doncha know), I pedal as much as I can, which is good for both my general health and for trip distance.
Charging time is a little long, although I typically don’t need a quick recharge. And it’s always charged – guessing about 5-6 hours – if I leave it overnight, even if I’ve run the pack way down. According to the specs, a 5A charger would shorten that time considerably. And, as I said in my ebay review, I’ve beat up the battery’s case some, so the lid is “stabilized” with Gorilla tape.
Hardware is a Trek 3500 26″ 21-speed Mountain Bike with front and rear disc brakes, a 48V 750W direct-drive front motor+wheel (with Hall lines) purchased couple of years ago on ebay, Grin Tech 35A sine-wave controller, Grin CA3 Cycle Analyst, and Grin-supplied Wuxing half-length twist throttle with regenerative-braking button (button works just great, btw). the Grin Tech stuff is recent; with sine-wave controller, the acceleration is smooth as silk, and motor noise is almost nil. I rarely shift from the highest gear, because the motor is there for me, to help with starts and hills.
I’ve had this CaliBike battery now for over 2 years, and am very pleased with it. BTW also quite pleased with the bike and other hardware.
Thanks, CaliBike!
